Disappointing news...

The little girl we got our hopes up about was not available to us because our home study had not yet been approved by the special needs adoption committee that handles foster care adoptions for kids with special needs. (She was considered special needs for several reasons but was relatively healthy.) We are disappointed and annoyed that we did not even know we had to have approval before being considered. Unfortunately, there are many hoops to jump through in this process that you don't even know about until you have missed out on something.
